Composite Tooling
Townsend Bay Marine builds one-off parts and production tooling for other manufacturers. Custom tooling construction draws on our ability to think of a boat from the outside in. Because we are boatbuilders we can spot potential interferences and conflicts between the boat's composite structure and her interior and mechanical components. And we can aid the client in planning for the production of their new boat.
For some clients we have provided a complete production "kit" consisting of the tooling, a the major composite parts of the first boat, and assembly/layout instructions for their production crew. This allows the clients to maximize the time their own crew attends to the profitable business of building production boats while allowing them to bring new models on-line efficiently.
